HAPPY RETIREMENT DADDY!

Today is my dad's last official day as a working man. He is retiring. My dad was a New York City Police Officer for 15 years and retired. Of course he was too young to go into full-time retirment at the time so he continued working. He is now ready to go into full retirement and today is his last day. He has been working for a private gated community as Assistant Chief of Security.

I am not sure what he will do with all his free time, but I do have some projects I can have him do to keep himself busy if he would like! LOL

I am very excited about this because when Emma comes home he and my mother will be able to visit more often.

So, CONGRATULATIONS DADDY and here is to MANY MANY MORE YEARS OF RELAXATION!

DATE NIGHT!

Bob had his class final on Wednesday and of course did great! All that worrying for nothing, which everyone told him even he's supervisor at work but he wouldn't listen. So to celebrate we are having a date night tonight and going to a comedy club. We haven't been to a comedy show in years and it is something we both really enjoy doing so I am looking forward to it.

I better take a nap since we will be out late and normally I am ready for bed by 10:00 p.m., even on weekends.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

GOOD LUCK POOKIE!

So tonight is a big night for my husband Bob. Every three years he has to renew his New York State EMT License. I am really really hoping we will be in China this time next year and that would be about the time Bob would need to renew his license so he is taking it early to be sure not to stress about it at the last minute. Tonight is his class final and Saturday is the state practical testing. He doesn't take the state written test until June.

Please keep him in your thoughts today!

Happy Chinese New Year

Today is Chinese New Year and It's the year of the pig! I realized that my birth year is also the year of the Pig! Could it be possible that our baby is going to be born this year and we will have this to share!

One could only hope! So today is a day of positive thinking and knowing that Emma will be home with us soon!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Can you beleive it's Valentine's Day already?? Where is this year going!! Thankfully it's going as fast as it is and we are that much closer to our little Valentine in China. When I was a little girl my daddy would always come home from work with candy and flowers for me, my sister and my mom. It was a special thing that stuck with me through the years and can't wait to share that tradition with our daughter.

So, tonight is going to be a quiet night for us. First, I really don't like going to restaurants on Valentines day, they always raise the prices and way to many people packed in! So, I am making Chicken Marsala with steamed string beans and mashed potatoes. And second, these past few weeks have been rough for Bob and I. Do you ever go through a period where you just don't like eachother very much? This journey has taken a toll on both of us, and the waiting has proven to be very stressful for both of us, it seemed instead of pulling toward eachother for support we pulled away from eachother. The good news is that we reconigzed it and did something about it. Like any relationship it goes through many emotions thankfully he is my very best friend and even a bad day with him is better then a day without him.
So, with all that said I am spending Valentines day with my two favorite people, my husband and Bonnie (our scottish terrier) and of course watching American Idol! LOL

Happy Valentines Day!

VACATION ANYONE???

Well, Bob and I were so sure that we wouldn't be taking a vacation this year because "we will be in China" but since that isn't a reality anymore we have decided to plan our summer vacation. Last year we took a few long weekends and visted my parents in PA, and also visited Bob's parents in Arizona.

This summer we are taking a "family free" vacation and going on a five night cruise to the Bahama's! We did the same cruise about three years ago and had a great time so figured why not? We leave May 14th and come back May 18th! We will be sipping fruity drinks and lounging by the pool on my birthday, May 17th.

We are both very excited about it and looking for to going, but part of me is sad. Sad that we are taking another vacation without Emma. When will we be able to say "this is our last vacation without a baby" I want to start booking vacations that involve activities for Emma.

HAPPY 7 MONTH LID ANNIVERSARY TO US.....

So, it's been 7 months since our paper work was logged into CCAA. At that point we thought our wait would be 12 months which means we would only have 4 more months without Emma. We now know that is not the case and the wait is unknown.

For now we wait, wait, wait and wait, wait, wait, and wait some more.
