Can it already be the end of November....

I can not believe that we are already approaching December!! I hope everyone had a great Turkey Day!

There really is not much to report! It is rumored that more referrals should be sent out in the next week or two. Hopefully things are picking up and full months will once again be referred. One can hope, right?

Bob and I started decorating for Christmas, last year I said "this will be the last Christmas without Emma" Well, here is another Christmas and I am decorating but this time I do not have the heart to say this will be the last Christmas without Emma because honestly, I just don't know. My neighbor trying very hard to cheer me up said "Well, just think this time last year your paper work wasn't in China so you are that much closer" I know she meant well, but it didn't help!

I know if Emma is born she has no idea that it's Christmas time, and she doesn't know that I am waiting here for her, but I know it's Christmas, and I know I am waiting for her, it just doesn't seem fair!

O.k. so enough of a pity party for me! :) I am looking forward to Saturday (December 2nd) Bob and I are meeting a group of people adopting babies from China for lunch in little Italy, NYC!! We will have lunch with everyone and then bob and I will take the train uptown and see the Christmas Tree and go to St. Patrick Cathedral and say a silent prayer that this year WILL BE THE LAST YEAR WE ARE WITHOUT EMMA!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Great poem.....

Somewhere far across the sea waits a little heart for me
Amazing though how it may seem we both are sharing the same dream
I long to tuck you in at night and hold your tiny hand so tight
To kiss your tears and keep you near to chase away your every fear
No one knows the tears I've cried the emptiness I've felt inside
Only God knew what to do a red thread tied from me to you
And now my love it's almost time when I'll be yours and you'll be mine
Soon forever-never to part my child I bore inside my heart

Nothing much to report....

Happy Wednesday, not much to update everyone on. No news about when more referrals will be sent, but I heard "rumors" that the wait is going to stabilize at 14 to 15 months! Really there is no way of knowing but it's a good "rumor" so I think I will go with that! IF that is true then we would be receiving our referral in September or October 2007! Keep fingers, eyes and toes crossed!

It's still raining in NYC, has been for three days! But the temperature is warm. It's been in the high 60's all week. I myself would like to see cooler temperatures, like 50's but we will see if I am saying that in February when it's snowing!

Oh, I was assigned my secret pal from my Yahoo group, so I will be shopping for Ladybug stuff this weekend to send! I am very excited to receive my secret pal gift in the mail! HAPPY SHOPPING TO ALL SECRET PALS.....

A Friend Who Gets It......

I've known my girlfriend Heide since High School, I'm even godmother to her daughter Patricia. Well, last week I was talking to Heide and of course giving her my whole sad story about the wait and how I am never going to be a mommy. By the time we hung up I was sure I completely depressed her and figured I wouldn't be talking to her for awhile!!! Well, Friday I get a package at work and inside was this shirt from Heide with a great note explaining that she wanted to do something special for me because I was sad and that I should wear my shirt with pride.

Something as simple as the thought she put into sending me the shirt and even more important that she got what I was feeling was completely overwhelming to me.

I wore my shirt on Sunday to Target and Stop and Shop, and I wore it proudly!!! I tried taking a picture of me wearing the shirt but you couldn't see the writing.

So THANKS Heide! I LOVE THE SHIRT

CUTE STORY

When I was 4 years old my parents went away for the weekend without me and my sister, but my mom promised to bring me back a present. When they got back my mommy gave me a black teddy bear which I named Teddy (very orginial) Well, I have slept with Teddy every day since getting him. Teddy even went with my husband and I on our honeymoon. Thankfully Bob has a sense of humor about it. When I was 16 years old our family puppy Maggie a Golden Retreiver decided to use teddy as a toy while we were not home. Maggie tore Teddy and my grandmother had to "try" and fix him. Well, Teddy was never the same so I had to put him in a pillow case which is were he is today, in a pillow case behind my pillows on the bed. I was thinking "wouldn't it be great to find Teddy for Emma" so I've been searching and was unable to find the exact teddy bear until one day on Ebay there was Teddy. So, I bidded on him (o.k. I was the only one bidding) and Teddy's family relative arrived home yesterday! I was so excited when Bob called me at work to tell me Teddy #2 was there and in one piece.

My mother asked me what I was naming the new teddy bear and I said "Teddy, of course what else would I name him"

So, Teddy #2 is now in Emma's room awaiting her arrival with the rest of us! Here is a picture.......

Question.....

I was wondering how many of us will be having "adoption" showers?? My mother is insisting on planning mine for April 2007. I know that she means well, but I am wondering if I am jinxing the process at all??

What thoughts do you all have on this subject?
