FAMILY DAY

Today is family day....the day Bob and I became a family. I look at our son today and can't believe how much he has change and how far he has come from the first time I saw him being held by his nanny at the Civil Affairs Office.

To say that Owen has completed my life wouldn't be enough. He has made me a better person, I had no idea how much my life was going to change on this day one year ago. I had no idea how one little person who started his life half a world away from me would fill my life with so much love and happiness. I had no idea just how much one person could love other person.

Becoming a mother has shown me what it means to wear your heart on the outside, every time I am not with him I leave my heart with him, he is my life.

I haven't figured out how to upload pictures with my new computer, I am challenged. I will hopefully figure it out soon and post pictures.

UPDATE AND OTHER THINGS

Dad is doing o.k., he is home from the hospital and although not himself definitely on the right track. It has been a very scary 4 days and truthfully very overwhelming for me because he is such a strong support to our family and always the one that we go to in time of crisis but this time he needed the support in his time of crisis.

Our laptop decided to stop working over the weekend, we got that the dreaded blue screen. Thanks to my very generous mother and father in law we have a new one on order. They are giving us an early Christmas present and buying us a new laptop!!! Thank you so much Irene and Bob, we really do appreciate it! I think they decided on the laptop because without it they know that we can't upload pictures of their grandson and since they live in Arizona they need their fix of Owen through pictures! LOL

On a happy note, Owen's 3rd birthday party was a HUGE success!! All the kids had a great time and he got so many nice presents. We are so lucky to have so many people around us that love our son as much as everyone does.

As soon as a WONDERFUL NEW LAPTOP arrives the first thing I will be doing is posting pictures of the little guys birthday celebrations.

Thanks again for everyones concern regarding my dad, I truly value all the friendships that I have made along this journey and through this blog.

e mail down thanks for your e mails will update u by end of week

WE GOT THE NEWS

Not exactly what we were hoping to hear, Dad has 2 cancer spots in his prostate. They biopsy 13 different areas so the big picture is that it's good news since only 2 of the 13 spots showed up as cancer but still you do not want to hear about any.

The problem right now is that he still is not peeing on his own. The doctor took out the caththier but he doesn't have high hopes that this is the end of it. If he does not go to the bathroom by 3:30 p.m. they he needs to go back to the doctor and have it reinserted. This is VERY bad news, my dad is not handling this caththier situation very well and neither him or my mother have slept in three days.

Thank you once again for all the emails, please continue to think about us.

I NEED MY BLOGGER FRIENDS....

I am feeling very sad right now and really need everyone to please keep us in your thoughts. My dad hasn't been feeling well since his biopsy last week but insisted he was o.k. and didn't need to go back to the doctor. Apparently, he is not o.k. he was sent to the ER last night with horrible pain, they needed to insert a catheter because his urine flow is not adequate and he has an infection. We still have no answers about his biopsy results, I really do not understand what is taking so long.

Right now all I really want to do is go be with him but tomorrow is Owen's kiddie party, so I need to stay home and prepare for that.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, we could use all of them.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OWEN!

Today Owen turns the BIG THREE! We are preparing for our family party tonight, Nana and Papa are on they're way and Owen has been helping me prepare dinner, he really is a mommy's helper!

Today is definitely one of the best days of my life for me, I finally get to celebrate my son's birthday and we are giving it our all to make sure he has a special birthday.

I think it is equally important that we mention his birth family on this special day, without them we wouldn't have a reason to celebrate today. And while we are a half a world away celebrating there is a women out there that is mourning the lose of her son, not just any women but my son's birthday mother. When Owen blows out his candles tonight I am going to make a special wish of my own, I am going to wish that some how in China his birth mother will feel a sense of piece and in her heart know that our son is safe, happy and very much loved.

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY OWEN, MOMMY AND DADDY LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

RANDOM THOUGHTS

Tomorrow is Owen's big THIRD birthday! I can not believe a year has gone by since I was preparing his birthday package to be shipped to the orphanage. Now I am preparing all the celebrations that we are having for our little guy.

This weekend was the first of many birthday cakes to come for the Prince, we were at my mom and dads house and sang Happy Birthday and he received his first round of gifts. Right now my sister is number one in the gift department according to Owen, she bought him the Little Tykes Scooter. He LOVES it. My nine year old nephew has the real thing and now Owen thinks he is a big boy like Matthew. When we sang happy birthday he was clapping and when we got to Happy Birthday to Owen, he yelled OWEN! Very cute.

Tomorrow is his actually birthday and we are having the "family" celebration. My parents, sister, nephew and very good friends Ken and Allan will be over for dinner and cake. Saturday is the kids party and right now we are up to 20 kids, YIKES! I did not realize my little guy is so popular. Everyone invited RSVP yes. I am happy about it though because I really wanted him to have a great birthday party and I am pretty sure it will be pretty great. After the kiddie party we are having another "family" dinner this time with my parents, sister, nephew and then Owen's godfather and his family.

Sunday is our annual pumpkin picking expedition. I am thinking by Sunday night I will want to crawl into bed and not come out! If only that was an option.

I will do a posting of all the birthday pictures at one time after the closing ceremonies on Sunday evening! :)

No update on my dad just yet, we are still waiting for the results of the biopsy, hopefully in the next day or two. He's in good spirits though and that counts for a lot.

Not sure how much I will be able to post in the coming days, hope everyone has a great week!
