I can barely control my emotions right now!! I am feeling EXCITED, SCARED, PANIC, HAPPY.....
We leave Friday, October 26th! We come home on Wednesday, November 7th! That is only 12 days in China! When I called Bob to tell him he started to cry! I started to cry and actually I haven't stopped crying!
How can something that we have waited for SO LONG and I am not talking just about the time of paperchasing and waiting, but since the day we got married we talked about the day when we would have children, how much we wanted to be parents! And now it is finally happening in 29 days we will finally be mommy and daddy to someone, to our very special little boy.
Also, I have an overwhelming desire right now to express how grateful I am to China, without them allowing Bob and I to travel into their country and bring one of their children home we would not be parents! I will forever be grateful to them!
So, now off to do all the fun stuff of preparing for travel!

MORE INFORMATION ON OUR LITTLE GUY!
I contacted Ann from redthreadtochina and asked her to see if she would be able to call Owen's orphanage and receive updated height, weight and shoe size measurements for us.
Ann was able to get all that information for us, we are so thankful to her. So, here is our son's measurements......
He currently weighs 24 pounds, he is 2 feet 7 inches tall and his foot length is 4.9 inches.
I see a shopping trip in my future. I will be going to stride rite with my ruler taking measurements of shoes and purchasing a few pairs. SHHHHH, don't tell Bob about the shopping trip! LOL
Still no word on our consultant appointment, I hope we hear this week. Another weekend would be too much for us to handle.

WE GOT OUR INVITATION TO TRAVEL!
We just received an email from our agency, our Invitation to Travel has been received and she is requesting our consultant appointments today! We will have definite travel dates next week! We are still looking at travel being late October early November!
This is really happening! I don't know if I am excited, nervous, scared or maybe all of the above! Bob and I have waited so long for a child of our own, and now that the moment is approaching I can't believe it.
Now the fun begins, booking airline tickets, packing and preparing for a very long flight! Have I ever mentioned that I am not a very good flyer!

REMEMBERING A BEST FRIEND......
I wanted to take a moment to remember Bonnie Bell McGrath, our furry best friend. Bonnie would have been 13 years old today.
Tomorrow will be 3 months that Bonnie was taken from us. My heart still hurts but I have come to a place where I can smile at our time spent together and I am grateful to have had her in my life.
There isn't a day that goes by that Bob and I don't think about her, Bonnie will forever have a special place in each of our hearts.
UPDATE ON OUR INVITATION TO TRAVEL.......
We received an updated email from our coordinator today, our Letter of Invitation has been issued and we should be receiving it very shortly. YEAH!!!
According to our agency we will be traveling the end of October. This is because of the holiday in the beginning of the month and then trade fair toward the end. I am disappointed because we are going to miss his birthday and he won't be here for Halloween but I am just excited to finally know that we really are going!
More information to come..................................

A DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
There really isn't too much to say about September 11th. I know for me, I will never forget what I was doing when I heard the news. I also won't forget stepping outside my office building and looking down 5th Avenue and seeing the smoke coming from downtown. And the moment when we realized the tower collapsed. I was standing on the street with complete strangers and we all just gasped and held each others hands. I also remember thinking that I was born and raised in NYC and never realized you could see the towers by looking down 5th Avenue. I suppose that's just because they've always been there and I never really appreciate that.
The most important thing that I remember about that day is how proud I am to be American but even prouder to be a New Yorker.
Our hearts and prayers go out to all those lost and to their families left behind.
